The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum located in Agra, India. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child in 1631. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1632 and was completed in 1653, with the help of thousands of artisans and craftsmen.

The Taj Mahal is considered to be one of the most beautiful and iconic buildings in the world. Its design combines elements of Islamic, Persian, and Indian architecture, and its white marble facade is adorned with intricate carvings and precious stones. The central dome, which rises to a height of 73 meters (240 feet), is flanked by four smaller domes and surrounded by four minarets.

The Taj Mahal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It attracts millions of visitors each year, who come to admire its beauty and learn about its history and cultural significance. The Taj Mahal is open to visitors every day except for Fridays, and special night tours are also available on select nights.
